Comparsion  between Malibu 310 (since 1984)

and Malibu Mirage 350 (since 1989)



Despite otherwise mentioned statements there are no structural system changes fom Malibu to Mirage concerning the airframe, wing
and landing gear!


These Malibus – built until 1989 – are accepted the

best piston engine Malibus regarding air traffic.


The Malibu 310 has several advantages over the Malibu Mirage 350:



The biggest difference is the engine

The Malibu 310 has a Continental engine with 310 hp

while the Malibu Mirage one by Textron Lycoming with 350 hp.

 

Plus factors of the Malibu 310 compared to the mirage 350 are:

 

1.        Consumtion (at 75 % power) minus 20%

2.         Range (at 75 % power and FL 250): plus 30 %

3.         Conti engines are flown lean of peak

4.          payload  plus 8,5 %

5.          more lighter engine

6.          approx. 80 kg mor payload after conversion to a JetProp (refer also to FAQ No. 8)
